Iconofile is offering a tour to Russia in the Summer 2005 to visit important centers of icon painting. The 16-day tour includes major centers of icons in Russia, such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novgorod, Pskov and the cities of Russia's Golden Ring, such as Yaroslavl and Vladimir. On the tour you will see firsthand icons made by Andrei Rublev, Theophanes the Greek and other masters of Russian icon painting. Tours also includes visiting ancient churches and monasteries. Iconofile has also arranged visits to the studios of contemporary iconographers and icon painting workshops.
This is the fourth year of this highly-acclaimed tour that offers a unique view of Russian icons both ancient and contemporary.
