A book of loose silver leaf is assembled by placing each unit of silver leaf between sheets of thin rouged paper. The gilder can then remove one leaf at a time without disturbing the remaining leaves. It is removed from the book with a gilder's tip, a flat natural hair brush.
Manetti silver leaf is 86 x 86 mm (3-3/8 x 3-3/8 inches) and is available in units called "books," each book containing 25 leaves. For volume discounts order one or more "packs" of silver leaf; each pack contains 20 books or 500 leaves. To order a pack just order 20 or more books to get the special pack price.
