Instruction

Egg Tempera Icon Painting Retreats/Classes

Iconography retreats/workshops can be arranged to be held at your location for groups of six or more. You may also come for individual or small group instruction at the studio in the beautiful White Mountains of NH. Five to six days is general length of time required. Beginners are most welcome. Icon painting is done using egg tempera, dry pigments on gessoed panels or boards; water guilding on clay bole. Students are introduced to the history and the role of the icon in the Church and instructed in the preparation and physical properties of the painting materials.
