I do wood carvings for icons, frames, crosses and pendants. Every item is unique. There's no such thing as a standard size or shape, so I don't charge by the piece but by the hour.
Pictured here is one example of my work: One of my recent works: the "Miracles" egg. It's carved in walnut, in about 140 hours. It depicts four scenes of miracles done by Christ: Turning water into wine at Cana wedding, Raising of Lazarus, Restoring vision to the two blind beggars outside of Jericho and Walking on water (respectively). Overall size is 3.78 x 1.93 inches (96 x 49 mm). Actually, the size of the egg is 2.76 x 1.93 inches (70 x 49 mm), the rest is the stand. Around the egg (below the scenes) is an inscription in Serbian: Jehovah thy God is in the midst of thee, a mighty one who will save you (Zeph. 3:17). |
