|
The Icon Painting School is part of the workshop established by the St. John the Baptist Cathedral (12th century) in Pskov (Russia) in 1993. The icon painters of the workshop are trying to revive this ancient Church art.
The workshop students work with ancient icon models, study methods of preparation of natural colours, different kinds of preparation works and the process of icon painting itself.
The Chief-Master of the Workshop, Father Andrey Davydov, the Father superior of the Cathedral, has been working in the sphere of icon painting for nearly 20 years.
In our Icon Painting Workshop we paint icons, fresco murals, fire (mercury-amalgam) gilding and make other art works for churches and for private persons on order. Some our works are now available for sell.
Numerous works of Father Andrey and his students are now in different cities in Russia, Italy, Belgium, France, Finland, USA and other countries. |
